Kratom

This incredible plant, properly known as Mitragyna speciosa, stems from the coffee family. Consumed for hundreds of years by the Thai for a variety of uses ranging from traditional medicine to ritual religious consumption, kratom has the effect of improving your energy, appetite, mood, and well-being. We take the red, white, and green-veined leaves of the popular Maeng Da strain and brew a delicious, potent tea here in our stores. We also brew “white shots,” which are triple the strength of standard kratom. Kratom is non-addictive and safe for human consumption, but should not be consumed if you are pregnant and you should consult with your doctor before consuming if you are on medication.

Kava

Properly known as Piper methysticum, this plant hails from the Pacific Islands and has been used in those areas for centuries as a traditional medicine. The root of the plant is used to create a tea drink with mild euphoric properties, uplifting your mood and relieving stress. The tea is traditionally served in a 4oz “shell,” harkening back to the Pacific and their methods of ritual method of consumption. It is not uncommon to see our customers raise their shells of kava with our staff, cheering “ohana!” before drinking the tea. No one knows for sure where this tradition came from, but it’s definitely a great one for bringing our community closer together! Kava is non-addictive and safe for human consumption, but should not be consumed if you are pregnant and you should consult with your doctor before consuming if you are on medication.

Blue Lotus

This tea is properly known as Nymphaea caerulea. While blue lotus is a relatively new tea in the Western market, the tea has been consumed for millennia in its native Egypt, where the plant has been seen in ancient Egyptian art! The tea has a relaxing effect and creates a gentle sense of euphoria, making it a wonderful alternative to kratom. Just the aroma itself is said to have calming qualities. Our blue lotus tea is brewed right here in our stores, which makes it particularly fresh and potent. Blue lotus is non-addictive and safe for human consumption, but should not be consumed if you are pregnant and you should consult with your doctor before consuming if you are on medication.

Damiana

Stemming from the same family as passionfruit, damiana, properly known as Turnera diffusa, is a surprisingly versatile plant! Damiana has been used in traditional Mexican margaritas for over a hundred years and was even used in French Wine Coca, the alcoholic version of Coca-Cola, both of which were invented in the 19th century by John Stith Pemberton. The plant is native to Central and South America, but we source our damiana from a non-GMO farm in Oregon and brew it right here in our stores. Damiana acts as a mood-lifting aphrodisiac and serves as a great alternative to kratom. Damiana is non-addictive and safe for human consumption, but should not be consumed if you are pregnant and you should consult with your doctor before consuming if you are on medication.

CBD

CBD is short for Cannabidiol, a compound found in cannabis. The important thing to note about our CBD products is that they do NOT contain any THC, which is responsible for the psychoactive effects of cannabis. CBD is not a scheduled substance and was actually recommended by the World Health Organization to remain unscheduled in 2018! CBD is extracted as a pure oil from hemp plants, which can be consumed directly through the mouth, by vapor, or through topical creams. The result is a fantastic product that calms the mind, soothes the senses, and relieves pain. CBD is non-addictive and safe for human consumption, but should not be consumed if you are pregnant and you should consult with your doctor before consuming if you are on medication.
